Georgia Henry: Head of Publishing

November 28, 2022

We’re celebrating promotions and growth into new roles here at Rocket. We have been working with publishers for more than 8 years, and due to consistent success and growth into the US this year, it was time to elevate our publishing team.

Georgia is stepping up to take on our first publishing lead. As our first Head of Publishing, Georgia will take the lead on all publishing client work, which includes every major book publisher in the UK and new clients in the US.

Making Moves

Georgia has changed the way books are marketed digitally having been one of the pioneering forces behind the UK BookTok scene. She is credited as being among the first to spot the unique relationship large parts of TikTok have with literature. Currently, the #BookTok hashtag alone has 89.8 billion views on TikTok.

Through her work on BookTok Georgia has helped spearhead digital innovation around book sales globally. Books are now more about the content than the front cover, which has led to a significant increase in sales and a marked shift from “Bookstagram” habits. BookTok can now be found at point of sale in bookshops worldwide, with displays showing trending #BookTok titles.

Recognition

Daniel Collins, Strategy Director said, “The publishing industry looks to Georgia for insights into book buying behaviours, creative best practice and new innovative ways to reach audiences through content marketing. Under Georgia our revenue through book publishing clients has grown year on year and she’s been responsible for our move into the US earlier this year.”

Says Georgia: “I’m thrilled to become Rocket’s Head of Publishing. Rocket has a dream client list and they empower me to thrive across all areas of my job. I’m excited to lead our growth into the US and further enhance our reputation within the book publishing world.”

Georgia joined Rocket three years ago as an Account Executive straight out of University, where she graduated with a Children’s Literature degree. Her expertise was soon noted within the sector and she has been invited to become a contributing writer at The Bookseller and a judge for The British Book Awards, aka The Nibbies.

What’s next?

We help publishers market fiction and non-fiction books to all audiences, including children, parents and young adults. We work with all UK book publishers, including Harper Collins, Random House, Simon & Schuster, Macmillan Publishers International Ltd, Walker Books, Bloomsbury Publishing Group, Penguin Random House and Faber & Faber.

We’re looking forward to sharing the first of our US campaigns with you, growing our publishing team and continuing to be leaders when it comes to marketing books to youth, teen and parent audiences.
